During their four years at THS, students will take 2 semesters of Health so they will have 1.0 credits at the end of their senior year. In addition to learning about nutrition, body image, communication, healthy relationships, communicable disease, HIV/AIDs, STIs, students will also stay current on articles and events that tie in such as the Ebola outbreak and the anti-vaccination movement.

Health 1 is a semester long course that is a requirement for graduation (65 or higher) at Torrington High School.  This course examines many health related topics such as: communication, health and wellness, healthy relationships, endocrine system, sexual reproduction in addition to a few other topics.  The students will also learn ways to access accurate information relating to health and use it to promote healthy living.

Health 2 is a semester long course that is a requirement for graduation (65 or higher) at Torrington High School.  This course examines many health related topics such as: digestive system, excretory system, nutrition, eating disorders, communicable and non-communicable diseases in addition to a few other topics. The students will continue to evaluate and access accuracy of information relating to health and use it to promote healthy living.
